I previously promised some process sketches of my recent portfolio revamp. Here you go!
I also planned to write a post-mortem. Feeling a bit not into that lately. The short-story is, lots of iteration. Lots of cutting away to the core. Conviction in pushing the format. It would be easier to fire up a CMS and call it a day, but again, I decided to try something else and saw it through (with some struggle no less!).
Updated portfolio, 2012!
There were two things I really wanted to get away from:
The fancy interpretation of this effort:
& the frank, and quite honest, interpretation:
Addendum.
Someone helped immensely on the scripting side. Also used the same someone’s animations library. ♥ :)
I plan to post sketches, mock-ups, thoughts about the whole process.. er, later.
Enjoy and report bugs! You can tweet bugs to me, @bysusanlin.
Preparing bits of my favorite presentation decks for the ‘folio. Thank you CMU; 4.25 years turned a once shaky presenter* to a slideshow power house.

One of my favoritest part of this to-be portfolio: the paintings + about photograph coupled together in a pseudo wallart gallery. The sheer amount of things on the wall is ridiculous still. And this was after I cut things. Many, many things. #profilicworldproblems
portfolio 2012 sneakpeak. placing imagery inside respective chromes helps immensely to both convey context and, well, just look good. e.g., why didn’t I do this before?
