tech industry: how recruiters view designers
Just for shits and giggles. I also miss the good ol’ meme days with my project team. Credit is where credit is due: thank @whoischrislam for the idea and fuel to make this one happen.

Made with Paper; quick sketch of ginger kitty.
During my flight back from Los Angeles today, the stranger in the center seat chatted me about Sociallist. (The dear side project I won’t shut up about; I was drawing frames during that terrible few minutes of no electronics ;)
He loved the idea and pitched one of his own to me: a vinyl app. Intriguing…
The best part? Turns out he wasn’t an ideas guy, but simply a guy who’s been traveling the world for the last decade enroute to Yosemite National Park. Has no stake in this industry.
It was clear he had a great grasp of the vinyl world (for the record, I know nothing about vinyl, pun intended) since it was enough to get me to sketch up his thoughts.
That was refreshing. The 1:25 flight passed very quickly as a result. A conversation between strangers who came from different worlds united by an inkling of wanting to create. No ulterior motives aside from a fleeting connection.
I parted with knowledge of his whereabouts for the summer and he parted with my sketch.
Just for shits and giggles. I also miss the good ol’ meme days with my project team. Credit is where credit is due: thank @whoischrislam for the idea and fuel to make this one happen.
Inspiration strikes at midnight and I finally bring a best friend’s* personal project to a close. It was fun thinking of ideas to make.. And though the assembly (aka design dirty work) took way longer than anticipated, it was worth the while. Paying it forward and flexing a creative muscle is time well spent.—
* I don’t really have a “best friend” from childhood. She’s one of the 3 friends who has stood the test of time and infrequent communication.. Being able to pick off right where we left off.
Painted these back in September: here you go internet! Finally get to see.

Also - new apartment is coming together.. Not quite ready to show it off in full, but am happy to show off some desk shots :)
I find that I like working w/ just the Thunderbolt display alone. Less screens to be distracted by.
..
Finally feeling like I’m getting into the flow, though I may be uprooted soon by the holidays. Well - that’s life. No more semesters for me, just a continuous stream of everything. It’s an adjustment I still haven’t completely made yet to be honest.
I doodled these with my stylus and fingers on a flight back from Austin. I am currently drafting a big ass post about the documenting the working life and thoughts on recent events.. but for now, I just wanted to let the internet know I’m not dead and attempt to get myself posting here regularly again.
See look,

POST IDEAS
I promise I’m still thinking about ideas!
Sidenote: I actually do think Adventure Time is quality stuff.
Also, this is pretty much true. I do, in fact, sing like an out of tune squeaky toy, except in the shower. Good thing he sings like a god :)
After a not-so-successful search to find a nice Wind Waker wallpaper, I decided the best idea was to draw my own. This is what happens after a combination of oggling at good art, being drawing deprived, and listening to ocr zelda songs all night.
Don’t know how you feel about it, but sailing across the Great Sea was really theraputic.
