New Work! A wizard in the forest.

Gift for my robot.

Her Wildest Dreams, Watercolor, 2014.

It turns out my friends share my wildest dreams which lead to this wonderful commission. This piece is 12x12’ (The last piece I did on whim for myself was 8x8’) on thick watercolor stock paper. It’s a huge pleasure to be supported by my friends.

Added the susuwatari, chu and chibi totoro, :)

p.s. I’m taking the summer off to experiment with painting projects. If you like this sort of thing and want to support, I’m offering a limited edition set (maybe 5 or 10 max) of ‘Wildest Dream’ commissions for a set price of $600 for the original foot by foot watercolor. It doesn’t have to be Totoro – just your childhood dreams realized.

Unfortunately my phone camera couldn’t capture the view and sketchbook!

You CAN even. Whenever I get creatively dysfunc, I can always rely on my neighbor Totoro to remind me why I was inspired to be creative: to immerse others in a magical world the way Totoro’s world still immerses me.

Hooray, photographs in natural light~
And a bonus process gif, since I remembered to take some photos along the way.

Friday night:
Gawked at gorgeous CG concept art.
Found an app called Fire Alpaca.
Spent 40 minutes painting a tree scene.
Another episode in a severe case of I-want-to-do-all-the-stuff-in-all-the-mediums-and-can-never-commit-to-one.

These series of watercolors are all from March.. I just haven’t had the chance to scan any of them due to killer semester!
Here we go: Audrey Kawasaki study. All the women she paints are gorgeous. Who doesn’t love her stuff?
