Inspiration: Snapshot, indie game

Snapshot is an adorable 2D puzzle game. Capture objects with your camera, and move them about. Love the concept and potential.

Concept Art | quick 2 cents for our indie game this semester:
Levels procedurally generated via music (peaks + troughs)
Cute, flat vector artwork
Speed game where you need to maintain momentum
And collect cats (obligatory)
Obvious inspiration taken from Worms.& would love some original music to serve as prime example levels. Hint hint composers out there.

The full assortment of backgrounds originally illustrated in Photoshop for Raincat. Only the third (happy blue sky) made it into the game.
After experiencing the joys (and pains) of full on projects, one will learn that design decisions to cut out content that is not ultimately suited is necessary to crafting the best possible product.
Originally, our idea was to include a narrative where raincat escapes from a basement and proceeds to a world with clear blue skies. However, our game evolved throughout development rendering the other backgrounds unsuitable.
Admittedly, the first few times this happened, I was upset that my hard work would not be shown in the final product. Of course, after a few rounds, it’s easy to see that it’s for the best. And, your hard work isn’t really lost. #lifelesson
