I’ve drawn things like this in the past, but I always love the red balloons in the blue sky with the perfect clouds.

A friend is making a start-up; I photoshop’ed this silly thing for him. As you can guess, it’s an epic beer drinking start-up.
A quick search brought up Facebook movie posters and the font was recognizably Futura. Copy the treatment for best effect.

Made this about a month ago right before I started @Trulia! Time flies.

Preparing bits of my favorite presentation decks for the ‘folio. Thank you CMU; 4.25 years turned a once shaky presenter* to a slideshow power house.
* One of my very first public speaking gigs as a grader schooler, I ended up pissing in my pants. True story. Sorry, no pics. Probably a good thing if you consider it “didn’t happen.”

One of my favoritest part of this to-be portfolio: the paintings + about photograph coupled together in a pseudo wallart gallery. The sheer amount of things on the wall is ridiculous still. And this was after I cut things. Many, many things. #profilicworldproblems

found more old sketches (2008).

why I do even publish these? mostly to keep a log for myself, see what I was thinking then and now. not much else. this was before I shifted into ui as my craft, so what these books were filled with were anime art.

it’s hard to believe I wasn’t thinking about it even at that point!

Musing on Recent Illustrations

Here are some things drawn recently, digital and analog.

Liking Illustrator after figuring out it is quite easy to adjust the pen to sense pressure sensitivy rather effectively much like Flash.

Just practicing. Moved to Photoshop and quickly filled in some tones.

Here is some more nonsense in Illustrator.

Seeing these ink+nib sketches makes me want to upgrade above the play set I have.

In between all of this action, there have been plans to start a cross-country collab blog.
& of course, everything that comes with having a fulltime job - thanks Mr. President for the day off! It’s weird, have less energy to assemble these posts than I cared to during university, especially design posts. /thinking out loud

That’s all, for now.

tech industry: how recruiters view designers

Just for shits and giggles. I also miss the good ol’ meme days with my project team. Credit is where credit is due: thank @whoischrislam for the idea and fuel to make this one happen.

Documenting the Dust Bunnies game, ch 1.

I’ve got my idea. Now it’s all about the execution.

Dust-blobs-without Dust-blobs-with

Since I’m not a strong coder, I’ve decided to make this a grid-based game, which should immensely simplify the game mechanics and logic magic that needs to happen on the backside.

This way, I can focus on the front - my strength. This might put the game on the map, despite the simplicity of the components.

At any rate, this should be a great kick-off type project. ETA? Let’s say June 2012 for now. Heh.

Is that a dust bunny in your indie game?

Dust-bunnies

Yes, yes it is. Up and coming. When design blocked.. Work on something else! Because good ideas don’t come sooner if you pursue them, ironically.

Also, starting with neutral midtoned canvas makes for amazing color schemes.

Happy Birthday to my little brother. | with a stupid meme filled card to boot

Manyshits

I give many shits about him (It just means I care except in angsty rebelious 16 year old terms).

That is all. We have a very awesome sibling bond as of date.

Connie-sketches-for-internets Inspiration strikes at midnight and I finally bring a best friend’s* personal project to a close. It was fun thinking of ideas to make.. And though the assembly (aka design dirty work) took way longer than anticipated, it was worth the while. Paying it forward and flexing a creative muscle is time well spent.
Unfortunately, the project itself shall remain a *secret* .. but here’s the source file for the sketches in all of its sketchy and cmyk palette glory.

* I don’t really have a “best friend” from childhood. She’s one of the 3 friends who has stood the test of time and infrequent communication.. Being able to pick off right where we left off.

In case of creative stagnation, draw fanart. Shiny, shiny fanart.

Sidenote: I actually do think Adventure Time is quality stuff.
